Brought home from his parent’s house by my father when it was being sold after his mother died in 1963, the contents of grandad’s trunk ignited a spark of interest in our forebears that has sputtered on and off for fifty years.

Not strictly from the trunk, but what started it all for me…given to me by my great-aunt when I was perhaps 8 or 9, as he was my great great great great uncle and namesake.
